Curriculum & Instruction

Welcome!

The mission of our Curriculum and Instruction department is to engage, develop, empower, promote, and enhance inclusive teaching and effective pedagogical practice to support All student learning, academic and language development, and college and career readiness.

Nurturing Minds, Empowering Educators - Where Students and Teachers Thrive!"

All that we do is with students in mind and at center!
Our student-centered approach is based on data: assessment, surveys, student/teacher/parent input, performance, and observation data. We consider the needs of the whole student. That informs our goals, planning, professional development, and the resources that we provide.

Courses offered at our schools include Honors, Advanced Placement, a variety of electives, college preparatory, Dual Enrollment (students receive both college and high school credit) courses during the student's school day, and pathway courses specific to each respective school's Charter. All of our courses are A-G approved with the exception of Physical Education.

We offer language support through our designated English Language Development courses and in our integrated courses.

We strive to offer our students every opportunity to become biliterate and to earn the Seal of Biliteracy (SSB). Assembly Bill 815 (Brownley, Chapter 618) provides recognition to high school students who demonstrate proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages, in addition to English. The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by the California State Superintendent of Schools to graduating seniors, certifying proficiency in English and at least one other language.
